JULIAN MOREEN - SHORT BIO

“Bursting with the energy of a late summer storm” comments German newspaper Badische Zeitung on the final show of German singer-songwriter and pianist Julian Moreen’s 2018 fall tour through Asia and Europe. More than twenty dates in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Germany and Switzerland exceeded all expectations of audiences and critics alike. German Singer-Songwriter & Pianist Julian Moreen puts acoustic piano and electric guitar at the forefront of his characteristic sound, creating an atmospheric, yet driven soundscape that unfolds somewhere between folk music, modern jazz and indie rock. Paired with Julian Moreen’s expressive voice, his music is narrative, almost meditative at times, only to soon release an outburst of energy and drive.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, he moved to New York with his fellow band mate, Malaysian guitarist Andrew Cheng . Together, they started soon to perform regularly at clubs of all kinds and sizes. In fall 2018, he went on his first tour of Asia with an international band of Berklee alumni, playing over 20 dates in Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan including national radio and news appearances, followed by a series of shows in Europe. Equally passionate about education, the band’s tour included a series of masterclasses, workshops and collaborations with universities and high schools in all countries. He is currently in Germany working on his debut album, ready to hit the road soon again.
